4D Analytics

Structure and Hierarchy

Users of the Report Table Editor should be aware of the structure of their 4D Analytics database. This will help to ensure that when they are configuring a table they know where the 4D Analytics points/properties are in the structure. How it is going to be accessed from the website (e.g., via dashboard widgets or on a report) should also be considered when designing the table.

Structure Levels

Within the Report Table Editor, the user may be asked to set a level. One way that this becomes an option is if the user sets the Type to be Iterative and the Iterate By to be Level – an option for Level is then available.

The Level refers to the position in the tree hierarchy.

Hierarchy Structure

Iterative reports work well with structure that features repetition (for example, where there are several sites or stores than contain the same information).

In this fictional example, we can see several sites that drill down to Meters. Each meter structure contains the same number of points and the points are named the same.
